Regarding Commissions
Thank you for taking the time and expressing an interest in my work!

Recently, I have been thinking of how I want to structure my commissions for my creative projects. After a long period of soul-searching and discussing with my peers I have decided to adopt a "pay-what-you-can" format instead of a traditional fixed rate.

Fees and Requirements
As I mentioned, I am adopting a "pay-what-you-can" format. This is because I believe that anyone should be able to commission a work and the amount of money that they are able to spend should not bar them from participating in the creation of new music. I do ask for compensation (either a monetary and/or reciprocal exchange) for the creation of my work. This is especially helpful when securing the rights and permissions to set text to music. However, I will never set any fee that prohibits an individual or organization I respect from creating a work that supports a cause I wish to advance.

I do have two requests in exchange for the creation of the new work. First, I would like the collaboration to be heard, so having at least one performance of the work planned (ensemble, venue, date, etc). Second, I would like to have a recording so I can share the work. This is not required to be a professional recording, but it should be of a high enough quality that I can share it publicly.

Starting the Conversation
If you're interested in discussing the possibility of commissioning me to write a new, original, work of music for you, your ensemble, or organization, please don't hesitate to contact me below! Please let me know who you and/or your organization are, what your concept for the piece is in as much detail as you'd like, details about the premiere performance and when you would need the score by. Depending on the amount of commissions I have at the time, I might not be able to immediately honor your request, but I would love to start the conversation with you. Please contact me using the form below. I usually respond within a few days. Serious requests only, please.
